How does “Try Before You Buy” work?
If you are unsure about purchasing a domain name outright, we are willing to offer a “try before you buy” option – $150 + GST per month, for a period of 6 or 12 months (renewable). You will get full use of the domain, however the ownership will remain in our name. Once your trial period is over, if you decide that the domain works for you, you can then purchase it outright for our asking price.
Does a new domain name replace my current one?
Only if you want it to – otherwise you can simply redirect the new domain to your current one, so that both will resolve to the same website.
How does the domain transfer process work?
Once you purchase a domain name from us, we will initiate the Change of Registrant process through our registrar, Drop.com.au. You will then receive an email from Drop, giving you a link and instructions to enter your details as the new registrant. From there, Drop will send another email (they do two for security purposes), with a second link for you to click on. This then generates an invoice for the Change of Registrant, which gets paid by us. Once this is done, the transfer process usually completes within a few hours thereafter. You can then choose to leave the domain with Drop, or transfer out to any other registrar for free.
How long does the Change of Registrant take?
Usually no more than a day or two once the process has been initiated and payment has been received.
